Spanking Illegal??
My French comrade tells me that spanking will become ILLEGAL in France. I am not one to hastily spank, but illegal? It is necessary sometimes. Opinions??

I completely agree with you. While spanking is not something someone should do regularly, there are times when it is necessary. Therefore making it illegal is just another overstepping by their government. Sheesh.
Spanking should absolutely be illegal. It is no different than hitting an adult - in fact, it is worse because a child is innocent and defenseless. There are never times when "it is necessary" - spanking is a reflection of the parent's failure, not the child's. If a parent can't figure out another way of correcting a child's behavior, he/she should seek help from a parenting expert.
